Things to remember when importing to the UK

Here is Mercator Cargo‘s guide to importing to the UK.

All goods imported to the UK from outside the EU must be declared to HM Customs and revenue .This means that you will need to IMPORT VAT AND DUTY on arrival to the UK. Mercator will be able to clarify when you contact us.

When importing to the UK you are required to have a valid EORI (Economic Operator Registration and Identification) number, which in most cases is your company VAT Number, registered with HM Customs to import goods, if you do not have one or have not applied for VAT Registration we can advise on how to get and EORI Number.

Mercator Cargo is based in Portsmouth in the south of England, we are able to arrange shipments to all major UK Ports and Airports and we can give you the best options for your location or the final destination of the goods.

Once your goods have cleared customs, Mercator Cargo can arrange delivery using our long established relationships with reliable and efficient hauliers.
