Export Shipping to South Korea

Generally when it comes to export shipping to South Korea our customers agree to arrange the UK export customs and sea freight to the port in South Korea (CIF – cost insurance and freight).  Under this term, we would arrange to collect the shipment, transit it to the departure port, carry out export customs and ship via sea to South Korea.  In terms of air freight to South Korea, the INCOTERM may be DPU (delivered at place unloaded), i.e. delivery to the air cargo terminal.

Deliveries to Door in South Korea

We are also able to arrange deliveries to door in South Korea in partnership with our agents in South Korea.  We have a long-standing relationship with this agent, who are also a member of the global network MarcoPoloLine.  The network operates via an invitation only system and has very strict conduct rules.  The result is a very strong and reliable network, with partners we know that we can trust, leaving your cargo in safe hands.

Importing from South Korea

Currently there are preferential tariffs on some commodities for import from South Korea thanks to the UK’s continuity free trade agreement.

Our shipping services for importing from South Korea to the UK include both sea and air freight.  There are frequent direct air freight departures from the main South Korea airports calling at London Heathrow.  Air freight is a good option if you are short on time but it is usually more expensive than sea freight.  If your shipment is particularly heavy or large it may not be economical to ship via air (as air freight rates are calculated by the cargo’s weight / space it takes up, whichever is greater).

Sea freight departures are weekly from Busan, Incheon and Pyeongtaek calling at Southampton and Felixstowe depending upon carriers and routes.  Transit time varies from 35 to 40+ days, depending upon routes.  Our sea freight solutions range from single pallets in shared containers (LCL) to multiple full container loads (FCL).
