Shipping Vehicles and Machinery to Kenya

If you buy at the heavy equipment auctions, we can assist with the shipment from point of origin, through to the port in Kenya.  Mercator was founded in 1991, over the years we have assisted the export of various goods to Kenya including commercial trucks, combine harvesters, tractors, farm equipment, cranes and machine parts purchased at auction or direct from manufacturers or traders.

Mercator Cargo is a founding member of the global freight forwarding network MarcoPoloLine (MPL).  Thanks to our membership within MPL, we have a partner agent based in Kenya with offices in Mombasa and Nairobi.  With the help of our freight agent in Kenya, we can advise on documentation required, handle customs clearance (if required) and can arrange local delivery to your customer’s door.  We have been working with our Kenya partner for over 5 years, so our freight forwarding service is well established and reliable.

Air and Sea Freight to Kenya

Our multi modal transportation options are available to all industries and includes air and sea freight to Kenya.  Air freight to Kenya is generally handled from all UK airports, typically from London Heathrow for destinations such as Nairobi or Mombasa.  Air freight is a faster, more costly method of transport for smaller or urgent consignments.

Sea freight shipping to Kenya takes around four to five weeks.  The main ports of departure from UK are Felixstowe, Sheerness or Southampton and these sailings will call at Mombasa in Kenya.  Our sea freight shipping services to Kenya cover all sizes of cargo, from single pallets as less than container loads (LCL), to out of gauge, and full container loads.

Cross-trade shipping to Kenya

Our export service to Kenya will include arranging to move your cargo from its point of origin, to the port in the UK, and loaded for shipping – either into a full container or RORO.  We will complete the UK export customs clearance and arrange for your shipment to be booked onto the next sailing or flight to Kenya.  On arrival in Kenya, we can assist with local customs clearance in conjunction with our partner agent and onward transportation (if required).

Due to our links within MPL, we’re even able to arrange “cross-trade” shipments to Kenya.  Cross-trade is the process of shipping between two countries with the seller or buyer being stationed in a third country.   For example, if you are based in the UK and you buy some heavy plant and machinery at an auction in the Netherlands for shipment to your customer in Kenya, we offer a cross-trade option and ship direct from the Netherlands (or Belgium) to Kenya.
