FCL Shipping to Canada

UK based freight forwarder Mercator was recently asked to assist with five 40’ high cube shipping containers for FCL shipping to Canada on the behalf of a UK manufacturer.

The FCL shipping to Canada assignment was based on a CFR incoterm (cost and freight).  Selling on a CFR incoterm means that the exporter is required to arrange and cover the costs of the shipment from their door to the port in the destination country.  The UK exporter asked Mercator to arrange this for them, so our team arranged the loading of the shipping containers, transport to the sea freight port, UK export customs clearance, and sea freight FCL shipping to Canada.

Once the shipping containers arrived in Canada, the paperwork was handed over to our agent in Toronto, who liaised with the importer locally to complete the shipment in conjunction with them directly. Mercator is a founding member of the freight forwarder network MarcoPoloLine, we have personal connections in many countries around the globe, which means we are able to offer our customers full door to door services, and utilise local knowledge.
