Freight forwarder, Mercator’s export team recently handled a shipment for air freight to Brazil on a CIP Rio de Janeiro (carriage and insurance paid to) incoterm.
The UK manufacturer sold the goods to their buyer in Brazil with the agreement that the export process and shipping via air freight to Brazil would be arranged and paid for at origin. Therefore, the UK manufacturer contacted our team to request a quote on a CIP basis. CIP meant the exporter was responsible for the goods to the agreed place of destination, Rio de Janeiro. Our team therefore arranged the pick up, export customs clearance, delivery to LHR for export, air freight to Brazil and insurance.

Once the goods arrived in Brazil, they were handed over to our partner agent located in Sao Paulo to complete clearance and delivery on the importer’s behalf. Thanks to our founding membership of the freight forwarder network MarcoPoloLine, we have strong connections and a tried and tested relationship with our agent in Brazil. This partnership allows us access to valuable local knowledge and ability to be able to help our customers ship to and from door in Brazil.
Whereas Brazil customs can be a daunting and complex prospect, our agent in Sao Paulo can offer us guidance to ensure that everything is prepped in advance of the shipment departing in the UK. Once the shipment has arrived at destination, they can complete clearances efficiently.
So if you have a shipment for air freight to Brazil, get in touch with our team who will be able to offer you a quote. To get in touch, you can email sales@mercatorcargo.co.uk, call our office on (+44) 02392 756 575, or complete the form below and we will get back to you.
