Freight forwarder Mercator handles full container loads FCL from China on a weekly basis. We recently handled this consignment of medical equipment from Shanghai to Felixstowe for a UK importer who purchased the goods on a CFR (cost and freight) incoterm.
Purchasing on CFR means that the exporter in China was responsible for the loading of the goods into the shipping container, export customs in China, delivery to Shanghai port, and sea freight to the UK.

Once the FCL from China arrived into Felixstowe, the responsibility and risk transferred to the UK importer, at which point our team stepped in liaised with the shipping line, completed import customs clearance, and delivered the container to the importer’s site. As part of our customs clearance service, we can handle any payments to HMRC for import VAT & duty, as well as clearing shipments with postponed VAT accounting (PVA) and deferment accounts.
Our team is well versed in this trade route China to the UK, meaning we can quote based on whether you wish a shorter transit, a more cost-effective option, or a service from a particular port in China. In conjunction with our freight forwarding partners across China, we have the connections and knowledge to provide you with a comprehensive freight service for FCL from China.
Whether you have a single container, multiple FCLs, or some pallets for LCL shipping from China, get in touch with our team who will be happy to provide you with a quote. We can help you with your FCL from China on any shipping term, from EXW (ex works) to CFR (cost and freight) and even DAP (delivered at place).
